- report safety and nuisance issues, such as faulty lighting, damaged seats, tagging etc
- reduce property damage, theft and injury by their presence
- promote a family friendly environment at major events
- are ambassadors for the city
- inspire community involvement through crime prevention initiatives such as car park safety checks, car seat checkpoints
- visit licensed premises and deliver safety messages

This includes:
- reporting tagging and undertaking rapid removal across Porirua City
- advising property owners on prevention/removal and encouraging quick removal of tagging (less than 24 hours)
- supervising community service work of graffiti offenders
- connecting with and mentoring young taggers into other pursuits
